I earned a Psy.D. in Psychology from New York University, and I am a licensed Psychologist in New Jersey (#3498). In addition, I earned Master’s degrees in Education and Special Education earlier in my career. My original focus was infant development and attachment. Earlier in my clinical work, I focused on children, adolescents, and families. Now, more than twenty-five years later, my clinical focus is on treatment with adults. My interest in the influence of early attachment relationships with caregivers has remained strong and informs my work with adults. I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist with Level 1 training. I have also followed the advances in neuroscience, trauma, affect regulation, infant emotional development, and attachment theory. Recently, I have been integrating body-centered mindfulness with psychodynamic talk therapy.
Grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, I will guide you to change your life and truly free yourself of ways that may have overwhelmed you and held you captive. In an interactive and responsive therapeutic relationship, we cannot predict precisely who will emerge: A strengthened person, free of disruptive influences from past trauma, a person who can have improved relationships and a stronger, well-balanced sense of self. Sometimes emotions and experiences are stored as sensations in the body and remain out of one’s awareness. In an interactive and responsive therapeutic relationship, I can help your body-mind communications to perhaps free you of negative patterns, beliefs, and disruptive influences from the past. Ultimately, the best way for you to determine if you want to be in therapy with me is for us to meet to see how you feel about taking this journey together and what the ‘fit’ might be.
